BullsPen

If only this place was more crowded, because the people were really nice (for a change).

I'm not sure if some woman was hitting on me in the restroom when she said "where are you guys from"...um that's a line I use when I'm waitressing and trying to get a bigger tip. Okay, okay, I know I'm being a huge bitch- I complain about people being snobby, and when they aren't I'm also mean. I guess I'm just not used to people being nice (awww, there that's better :).

The bar tender was sweet, making conversation with everyone, taking shots with us. Too bad this place wasn't full, because this hole in the wall's crowd is what's appealing about it ....that and the juke box.
$2 per song! Too bad me and E didn't realize this because we kept putting money in OPS!

Only suggestion? Turn the music just a notch down, I ended up with a migraine (could have been the cigarettes).

Ajna bar

What do you do if your feet hurt from heels? You take them off and dance around!
Too bad the idiot bouncers are so fucking anal. What is it about bouncers thinking that they are g-d?
Angry black men syndrome anyone?
So the drinks were a flat rate of $14 including shots. At least the crowd wasn't super ugly/ghetto, and half a step up from what we're used to seeing.
Give it up to M for finding the only Dominican guy in the place. Music was nice house/pop.

Best part? Glass smoking room section-listen up smokers you gotta utilize and taken advantage of the room in the winter!

P.S. when a girl fainted outside, the owners and bouncers were classy enough to whisper to themselves "it ain't my problem"

E got into a fight for M who wanted to sit down bc she wasn't feeling the cheap Tequilla from earlier in the night at Brother Jimmy's. Some short ugly girl wouldn't let M sit down, so E got mad. Short ugly girl had it coming, she scratched E. E and I pushed SUG and I motioned for E's bf to diffuse the situation. It was the most exciting part of the night. Just more proof that people are dumb and pretentious in new york.

Ajna Bar

Its M! Ohhhh Boy, What a night!

Almost getting into fights in the meat packing district at Ajna Bar.  This time it was all 3 of us, myself, E and N.  Absolutely beautiful and upscale place. Restaurant by day and lounge/club by night.  Music was great and it was very crowded.  The men! Oh the men! Not much of a variety, some shy, mostly outrageously in your face weird, and a few french guys visiting NYC.  They seemed to be your well off guy in his thirties to fourties, dressed in his suit or dress pants and button down, desperately looking for the one.  Short to tall but mostly Caucasian.  Very very few Latin or black guys.  But the impression I got was that most of the crowd was wealthy or had really awesome jobs, if the drinks and shots were a ridiculous $14!!!!  How could a bar charge me the same amount for a shot they'd charge for a drink....and $14??? Common!  I think if it weren't for the cheap tequila in my margarita at dinner I would have been a happier person and MAYBE  had more fun!

There was a really awesome smoking room, glass room with an open ceiling, where if you looked up you could see the beautiful sky. The room was sort of placed in the middle of the club/restaurant, convenient for smokers who don't want to go through the hassle of exiting the club and sometimes waiting in line to come back in. All three of us escaped to this room a few times, especially after E started up a fight with a selfish and stuck up bitch and N punched her. I would have takin out my cheap Tequila anger out on her but then I remember I just baught my beautiful new nose and I'd like to keep in intact!

But the crowded area, ugly guys, snobby bitches and $14 drinks made me want to get the hell outta there! The bouncers were hotter than the guys in this place!

Till next week,
M

Bar 13...Again

They say the second time doing something is never as fun as doing it the first time. The second bite of that apple will never be as good as the first.

Greetings followers! N here. Thought I’d blog again about our experience last night at Bar 13. If you’re thinking ‘hey isn’t that the place they reviewed last week?’ well you’d be right. We decided to go back on account of M’s special friend.  M and I were pretty satisfied from our previous week’s visit that we agreed upon going back. This time the crowd consisted of a lot of black brothers inside, and on the roof a bunch of teeny bopper looking girls in their shorts stumbling around. A bunch of creepy guys kept staring at M even though it was clear she was with a male companion. Usually guys who see a chick with another dude leave her alone, but M was looking so sexy that night that no guy could keep their eyes off her. I on the other hand, spotted a guy with potential. Too bad that despite my multiple efforts to get close to him, the boy was adamantly standing and talking to a small exotic (but not pretty) chic. Maybe it’s for the best since M thought he was 18 at most.

We were however able to find a few seats outside and talk on the scorching hot roof which as M’s friend pointed out, lacked any music for guys to “vibe” with girls.

Drinks-same as last week- slow ass service even though the bar wasn’t crowded (I was standing at the bar with maybe one other person. Since no one was coming to me or paying any attention, I decided to get drinks up stairs at the roof). A woman was bartending alone and at least she knew how to make drinks efficiently. For one, it didn’t take her 7 hours to serve a single person. And so, I got M a long Island which she requested be redone since it was too strong.

Music- ummmm Hey Mr. DJ…Hip Hop doesn’t mean songs nobody knows or no one dances to.

Throughout the whole night I tried to sneak out for a bit and give M and M2M a few moments alone so they could put the moves on each other. Nice wingwoman N. Pat yourself on the back!

Bar 13

Hey It's M,

"Put your hands in the air if you like Sex!" Yelled the DJ.
Bar 13, located at East 13th Street between Broadway and University Place, had 3 floors of fun!
First floor was the "hip hop" room, although they didn't play much hip hop and mostly everything that's played on the radio, it was packed.  Second floor was the "house" room.  It wasn't your typical house music it had a nice beat and Caribbean feel to it. Very danceable and really fun and alot less crowded.  Third floor was the outdoor roof top! It was very chill and everyone either stood around and conversated or sat down.

Girl to Guy ratio was pretty even.  There wasn't much of a mix of different types of men.  There were a few blacks guys, a few Latin guys and mostly your average white boy. They looked like they were recent college grads.  There were of course your awkward stalker types, like the "Put some Jamaican in you diet and Bam!" Guy who wouldn't take his eyes off me and tried to get my name.

Unfortunately non of the normal guys approached me but it was an overall fun night with the girls and a great place for dancing. Its not quite a club but more laid back and you have your choices of different floors to visit.

The 13th Step

Hey all readers!

I am the "N" part of M.E.N. I'm 24 years old and I guess I would be the more pessimistic one of the group. Don't get me wrong, I try. When I'm out I have hopes of meeting someone attractive it just so happens that this rarely seems to occur.
Let's begin (not at the beginning but at…) last night. As our friend pointed out last night, when one quits drinking alcohol they go through the 12 step rehab program, when one wants to get as wasted as possible they go to The 13th Step Bar located at 2nd avenue between 9th and 10th street.
Judging from the outside, the place seemed like it would be a tiny hole in the wall , but inside it was pretty damn big. We walked down a few steps inside, and found ourselves in a huge room. On the left hand side- a long bar counter stretching to about half of the room's length. On the right hand side - tables and booths to chill in with friends. The middle is a place where crowds of people stand around with their drinks, dance, and talk all while bumping into others.

Hey DJ- please play something we can dance to, you know, before you altered the original tune with your personal bad beats..:-/
As for penis, you'll get an eclectic range of men here. From short Latino's, tall awkward white boys, military rejects, to your awkward skinny guys in suits. Forget about game, boys seemed to be super shy in this place hanging out in small groups and practically waiting for a miracle from g-d, so that a female  walks up to them and will introduce herself. This isn't to be mistaken for snobbism, but it does require some liquid courage.

Just ask M who's shots of patron helped her talk to her Latino eye candy…too bad he was heading out just as we were settling in.
